SCEDFA AND UDON THANI RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTSANDING

On 5th December 2022, the leaders of the Service Centre for Da Nang Foreign Affairs (SCEDFA) met with delegates from Udon Thani Rajabhat University (UDRU) of Thailand led by UDRU President Kanisara Thanyasunthornsakul.

The SCEDFA and UDRU meeting

At the meeting Mr. Tran Hieu, SCEDFA Director, briefly introduced SCEDFA’s functions and duties and its contributions to the City’s external relations. As to the cooperative relationship between the two sides, Mr. Tran Hieu stated that now is a suitable time to begin to promote the two sides’ cooperation activities again after a long time of being affected by COVID-19 pandemic and proposed cooperation programs in the near future.

UDRU’s President, Dr. Kanisara Thanyasunthornsakul, highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between SCEDFA and UDRU in the past and stated that the two sides’ similar functions and duties will be a basis for potential long-term cooperation between the two sides in future. Dr. Kanisara Thanyasunthornsakul also recommended several short-term training programs for students and said UDRU will be ready to support and cooperate with SCEDFA in carrying out cooperation activities between the two sides.

On this occasion, SCEDFA and UDRU signed an MOU for the 2023-2027 period. In the near future, the two sides will strengthen cooperation activities in education including summer camp programs,  UDRU site visits for students and parents considering studying at UDRU, and short-term training programs in hospitality, food service, media, and marketing which are UDRU’s strengths and suitable to Da Nang’s demands for human resource training and development.

MOU signing ceremony between SCEDFA and UDRU

SCEDFA and UDRU established their cooperative relationship in 2008. Since then, SCEDFA has sent more than 120 students to study at UDRU in foreign languages and specializations. Most Vietnamese students after graduation have stable jobs with attractive incomes in both Thailand and Viet Nam. Specifically, they become more mature from UDRU’s learning environment and strict disciplinary rules, which is highly appreciated by their parents.

The signing of the MOU confirms that the cooperative relationship between SCEDFA and UDRU grows increasingly more and more sustainable and contributes to strengthening the external relations and international cooperation of Da Nang City.
